Why does the menu option still say GET ALERTS Subscribe if I am already a subscriber?

The menu option doesn't have a setting to limit to subscribers/non subscribers, so it shows for all. When you go into that section, it will say "Access Restricted." That is because you are already a subscriber, and we don't want you signing up more than once with payment.
